One of the rumors here is that the painting project is nearly complete. Mark has done all the high ladder work on the eaves and the windows. And we’ve turned our attention to cleaning frames, resetting storm windows, and window washing. But of course there are cracked windows to replace, too, and window frames to free up, and some touch up painting here and there.
So, the enabling fiction, despite these promising developments, is that the painting project is coming to a close. But when I told Bill the other day that after a couple of years of work, perhaps five or six hundred hours, he smiled that New England smile and said, “I guess it’s time to sell the house.”
