A Backward Glance

Somewhere around forty-five years ago we spent time camping and fishing in the Hermosa Creek valley and somewhere around forty-five years later we walk along the creek to one of the stream-side groves of pine trees where we all release some of dad’s ashes and watch the white, milky presence disperse into the eddies downstream.
